The Basics of CGC Garden Plots
Plots in several CGC member gardens are for individuals to use to grow food for themselves, their families and friends. Plots are assigned and the gardens run by volunteer garden leaders. Gardeners are expected to help with general upkeep at the gardens in addition to maintaining their own plots.
Many gardeners return year after year, but most gardens also have open plots each year which are assigned on a first-come first-served basis by of the leader(s) of each garden. Garden leaders are also encouraged to keep a waiting list of interested new gardeners.
Water, tools, compost and mulch are provided (and sometimes seeds, plants, row cover and hoops). The CGC does not charge a fee for participation at member gardens, but we encourage you to make a small donation and to volunteer your time. (Additionally, certain individual gardens may charge a small fee.)
See the list of gardens here. Please also read our gardening guidelines.
“GET A GARDEN PLOT” FORM CLOSED FOR THE WINTER!
Most community garden plots are dormant over the winter. If you are looking to get on a waiting list for a plot for next year, please check the contact info for neighborhood gardens on their individual pages. See the list of gardens here and click on the one that interests you. If you have other questions, contact the Coalition board.
We will re-open the form for getting a new garden plot in mid-January 2026.
