The Community Garden Coalition has funds to support member gardens purchase tools and supplies. Funds are also available for bigger projects at the gardens, such as storage sheds, raised beds, and compost bins. For member gardens in good standing, read on to see how garden leaders can access CGC funding.
Pre-Approved $100 & Compost | Asking for More $$ | No Sales Taxes
Pre-Approved Spending
The CGC treasurer will pay back a garden leader from member gardens for the following expenses. Receipts are required for reimbursement. Please do not pay sales taxes.
-
- Annual $100 Stipend — Garden leaders are “pre-approved” to spend $100 per gardening season to purchase supplies and equipment that benefit the entire garden.
- Compost Allowance — In addition to the $100 allotment, CGC will also reimburse you for cost of compost and bulk delivery (up to approx. $200); large gardens such as Claudell, Ash St, Broadway Christian may request funding for additional load.
- Request Reimbursement Form
Asking for More Funds
- Requests for funding beyond the $100 stipend or compost allowance will be considered by the board at our monthly meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month.
- We consider requests in the order received. Please submit your request by the first of each month, providing as much detail as possible, so we have time to review it.
- This process is to ensure that funds are used wisely. It is in no way intended to serve as a barrier to needed improvements, tools, and supplies at the gardens.
- New Funding Request Form
- After funding is approved and supplies/services are purchased, use the Request Reimbursement Form to request payment from our Treasurer.
CGC Does Not Pay Sales Tax
Please don’t pay sales tax! The CGC is a nonprofit and exempt from paying sales tax. We cannot reimburse you for tax paid on purchases. Our tax exempt ID is on record at the following businesses: Westlake’s on Worley and Lowe’s. At these and other businesses, you will need to present the CGC’s tax exempt letter which is included in the Garden Leader’s packet at the beginning of the gardening season.
