Cole Crops Available This Weekend

CabbagesThis weekend, March 24 & 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, the CGC will have some cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage plants available for those gardening at our member gardens. Plants will be distributed at the Claudell Garden, 711 Claudell Lane.

We are requesting a donation of at least 25-50¢ per plant to offset our costs of buying and transporting them. We ask that you give what you can, but you will not be refused for lack of funds. These are good quality plants and the weather is fantastic right now for growing brassicas, so we hope many gardeners can take advantage of this opportunity.

Please note: we can only offer this service to those gardening in our member gardens, not the public at large.

  1. hey CGC… this is rhonda woolsey. what is a good email for your group?

I am looking for donations… seeds? plants? native starts? and/or a volunteer to teach at risk kids anything on EArth day apr 22 at douglas park. between 10 am and 6 pm.

I am working with the Douglas Park Neighborhood Assoc., ONS, City of Columbia, poss more groups and acronyms to come.. to sponsor an alternative Earth Day…We are teaching alternative and sustainable lifestyles about Native plants, gardening, cooking? composting perhaps…I want to ask if you can donate any native plants, veggie plants and/or if anyone wants to volunteer to teach a short session with the kids, or plant a native garden, or show how to compost or worm farm… I see this as a chance to make a difference. try and give alternatives of activities to prevent violence and promote racial harmony while educating the low income people/children about ecology… and encourage self reliance and pride. What do you think? A good way to spread the word to the most Urban areas… ??? Rhonda Woolsey

    • Hi Rhonda. Good to hear from you and your project sounds cool. Lea has already sent some email around to the board to talk about what we could do to help. Just to answer your question, in addition to commenting here, you can always send email to info@comogardens.org to get in touch with us.
