On August 28, folks around the world will be celebrating World Kitchen Garden Day, “an annual, decentralized celebration of food produced on a human-scale.” Late August is great time to plan a party and enjoy all those ripe tomatoes and peppers. The indubitable ParrotHeads are once again donating part of the proceeds from this annual fundraiser to the Community Garden Coalition. If you have an interest in supporting community gardening and a mere $10-12 in your pocket, consider going to their concert fundraiser April 21, 6-11 p.m. at MoJos.

St. Joseph Garden Full
Please note, the St. Joseph community garden is all full for this year, with a waiting list. As mentioned in a previous post, the Benton-Stephens garden is also full for 2011 at this point.
There are still plots to be had at other gardens, though, so get your applications in today!
New Community Garden
A brand new community garden is starting next to the Health Department on Worley! On Monday, March 21 at 5:30 pm come to an informational meeting at the Columbia/Boone County Health Department (1005 West Worley) for people interested in having a garden plot.
