Community Gardening Webinar

mp0906coverA webinar (on line teleconference) will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm, to introduce a new University of Missouri Extension publication titled “Community Gardening Toolkit.” The toolkit provides tips, steps, resources, and tools for starting and managing a community garden. Benton-Stephens Up and Running

The Benton-Stephens garden reports on it’s new web site that they have had good success so far getting things planted.

We now have the following vegetables and seeds in the ground:
Peas, Lettuce, Spinach, Carrots, Radish, Beets, Onions, Swiss Chard

They have work days currently scheduled every Thursday from 3:30-6:30 pm and every Saturday from 12-4 pm

Gardening Classes

The Circus Lyon garden has arranged the following two workshops. All community gardeners are welcome to attend.

Alice Havard will talk on Saturday March 28 at 10 am at the Circus Lyon Garden for about a half hour on Succession Planting and Companion Planting.  The Circus Lyon Garden is located 1 block south of the cross walk at Jefferson Jr. High School.

On Saturday April 11, Adam Saunders will talk at 10 am at the St. Joseph garden on Composting.  The St. Joseph garden is located 2 blocks north of Broadway and 1 block west of College Ave.
